Disciple of: Grand Master Eddie Wu Kwong Yu §d¥ú¦t Disciple since: 2003 Profession: Freelance Writer/Translator Email: geoff@singularfitness.com Website: http://www.singularfitness.com School: Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Toronto
While my interest in martial arts has taken me to numerous places ¡V both literal and figurative ¡V Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan has been my primary focus since joining the Toronto academy. At that time, I was as surprised as anyone else might have been to see what Wu Style had to offer. What I discovered was an incredibly detailed system of biomechanics and training methodologies. Within this system, I have discovered lessons that are universal to any form of movement, but rarely explored in such depth. Attempting to master these lessons will be a lifelong challenge. And that¡¦s not even getting to the part where I try to throw people around.
In 2003, my commitment to the art was reaffirmed when I was accepted as a disciple of Grandmaster Eddie Wu Kwong Yu, the fifth generation head of the Wu Family.
As a personal trainer, the details of balance, postural alignment and coordination taken from Wu Style have become fundamental to the way I work with general exercisers and athletes alike.
