My involvement in Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan began in 2002. After 10 years of study in Tae Kwon Do and Contemporary Wushu, I wanted to find a school that would further my development as a martial artist. I always had an interest in studying Tai Chi Chuan, but was disappointed to find most schools offering instruction solely for the health benefit. After observing a number of beginner and intermediate classes at the Toronto club, I was quite surprised to find a school that not only taught Tai Chi Chuan with a martial focus, but also had a strong lineage as well. I spent the next years working on my basic skills and in October 2004, I was honored with an invitation to become a disciple of Sifu Wu Kwong Yu. |
