Disciple of: Grand Master Eddie Wu Kwong Yu §d¥ú¦t Disciple since: 2007 School: Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy, Hong Kong
I started to learn Taiji was due to my health problem. Actually I had chronic shoulder pain for years, and in fact all other medical efforts that I subscribed before on my problem were all in vain. And I was even told by various physicians that I should prepare to carry the shoulder pains for the rest of my life. I am so grateful that my old IBM colleague Jeff Chui Sihing introduced me to Taiji and he entrusted that practicing Taiji would alleviate my illness.
And there I went, Jeff brought me to visit the academy and Sifu Eddie Wu walked me through the Taiji basics concept. My first Taiji lesson was real impressive for me. I was exhausted by the high physical demand of the balancing of my body movements that I have to quit for six weeks due to my inferior health condition. I joined the beginner class again in the HQ Academy in 11/2005. I put forward enormous effort to follow the instructions given to me by Sifu Eddie Wu, Sui Fung Sifu and Eugene Heung Sihing, and practice all basic stretching and the Taiji forms every morning that in times my shoulder pain has naturally disappeared. I am really attracted by the philosophy of Taiji, and as well its martial art applications that I find practicing Taiji do not only improve my physical health condition, it enhanced my total life quality.
I am really honored to be the 11th Disciple of Sifu Eddie Wu in Hong Kong. Actually I am really amazed by the fate that my path will cross with Taiji that I even would become a disciple of the Wu Style Taiji Grand Master - something that I have never dreamed about does really happen in reality. I do cherish this a lot, and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for all the effort that Sifu Eddie Wu, Sui Fung Sifu, and Eugene Heung Sihing, Chan Sau Shing Si Suk and all others senior disciples have put forward to coach me with patience with in-depth explanations and inspirations.
Taiji is now part of my life that I will not leave my house everyday without practicing Taiji. I will continue to work hard to enhance my taiji forms, and follow closely with sifu and all other disciples to leverage the Wu Style Taiji value proposition in all different disciplines and social context.
