I have always been fascinated by how smooth and gentle the movement of Tai Chi is and yet can benefit not only on one’s health but also train as a combat art as well. I had learnt Taekwondo when I was 13 and ventured into unarmed combat in my twenties. I also did have an opportunity to learn Yang Style tai chi which I enjoyed very much but had to stop due to a work posting in another country. When I returned eight years later, I immediately searched for Tai Chi classes. I found Singapore Jian Chuan Tai Chi Association and immediately enrolled. I was inspired from my first lesson and remain so today. The way tai chi was taught in this Association was quite different from my previous experiences. Every lesson is always a new learning experience. I am very grateful to be part of the big family of Wu style Tai chi where I can train with my seniors and fellow classmates. Last but not least, I feel in debt to all our senior instructors who have always taught us without reservation. |
